Build Better Serverless APIs By Going Storage First
Last week my team was having a fiery debate. They were talking about the usage of VTL exclusively for APIs. One side of the argument debated that it enabled you to get the fastest possible response times for your API.
One weird trick for sampling EventBridge events
Amazon EventBridge is a serverless event bus and a key component of serverless, event-driven applications. However, it can be difficult to construct example event data for testing environments, and developing against mock events can be limiting.
The Cloud books you need on your shelf by DavidAnderson
Cloud is changing. The legacy cloud of the past is not meeting our need for speed. Organisations are moving to Modern Cloud. What do you need to learn for modern cloud? We have got your covered in our new book, âThe Flywheel Effectâ. And in our blog: âThe Serverless Edgeâ.
Welcome to 10GB of tmp storage with Lambda by Yan Cui
Every Lambda function comes with 512MB of ephemeral storage in the shape of a /tmp directory. This storage space can be reused across multiple invocations for the same instance of a Lambda function.
AWS Lambda now allows customers to configure up to 10 GB of ephemeral storage for Lambda functions
AWS Lambda customers can now configure up to 10,240 MB of ephemeral storage for their Lambda functions, a 20x increase compared to the previous limit of 512 MB.
There are so many great blog posts, tutorials, use cases, and more shared each week by the #serverless community, that picking just a few to feature is really hard. So here are some other honorable mentions chosen by our readers.
Serverless Cloud by Jeremy Daly
Create zero-config backends with APIs, data, storage, events, scheduled tasks, secure parameters, and more. Then run frontend frameworks like React, Vue.js, Next.js, and 11ty, alongside your backend code in a unified dev experience with instant deployments.
AWS Lambda Now Supports Up to 10 GB Ephemeral Storage by Channy Yun
Serverless applications are event-driven, using ephemeral compute functions ranging from web APIs, mobile backends, and streaming analytics to data processing stages in machine learning (ML) and high-performance applications.
AWS Lambda functionsâ ephemeral storage increase unlocks new potentials by OÄuzhan Ăzdemir
AWS announced AWS Lambdaâs increased ephemeral storage (/tmp) configurable up to 10GB.
