In our previous issue, we caught up after an extended summer break, Aurora turned 10, and AWS combatted AI hallucinations. This week, Off-by-none turns 7 years old, Cloudflare brings Node.js HTTP servers to Workers, and Databricks raises one billion dollars. Plus, we have lots of awesome content from the serverless and cloud community!
AWS announced some helpful updates to CloudWatch including the ability to query metrics data up to two weeks old, plus query alarms now support monitoring metrics individually. Also, Amazon Neptune Database now supports Public Endpoints, letting developers more easily connect from their local machines.
In other cloud news, Cloudflare is bringing Node.js HTTP servers to Cloudflare Workers, and Databricks is closing a Series K venture capital round of $1 billion! π€―
And finally, we want to say congratulations to Lee Gilmore who's celebrating the one year anniversary of the Serverless Advocate Newsletter! I know firsthand how challenging it can be to crank these out every week, so please know that the community appreciates your efforts.

It's hard to believe it's been 7 years since I started writing this newsletter. Back then, serverless was in its infancy (heck, I was still in my 30s π). There was so much promise and so many unknowns. New patterns were developing, new services were launching, and new people were discovering this remarkable innovation that was changing the cloud. That's what made it so exciting. Now, 7 years later, there are countless numbers of people relying on serverless technology to power their startups and enterprises, and the number of vendors in the space has exploded.
The naysayers have landed some punches over the years, and there are still plenty of rough edges, but I still believe that serverless will evolve to become the future of truly elastic cloud computing. If you've been following along, you know I've railed against the pricing model and pushed for ways to avoid the inevitable graduation and replatforming that many companies experience. I have my fingers crossed that this is the year something big is going to happen. π€ I hope you'll stick around to see it with me.
Take care,
Jeremy
